Cbse Xth Maths
I know the importance of Xth class.
I know how students are tense with board exams.
I know how students are tensed when they are giving Maths exams.
About Me:
I'm also a Xth class student I'll also give the board exam in 2010 but i want to help others too with boards.
Here we'll discuss about Maths only.
There are 15 chapter in our 2009 cbse Maths syllabus.
1) Real Numbers
This chapter is the next version of class IX chapters(uclid geometry and Rational No.)
2) Polynomials
In class IX we have studied polynomials in one variable but now we will study it in two variable.
3) Pair of Linear equation in two variables
This chapter is also in IX but now in 10th it is different there is equations and much more.This chapter is much intresting.
4) Quadratic Equations
This chapter is similar to chapter 2 (Polynomials). This chapter have a good weigtage in exams. I suggest a good preparation of this chapter.
5) Arithmetic Progressions
This chapter is concern with many things in daily life. As i feel this chapter is not difficult but it is boring.
6) Triangles
We also have read this chapter in IX. This chapter good and main thing is to know theorems.
7) Coordinate Geometry
This chapter is same as the IX one but now it include new formulas and some new concept.
8) Introduction To Trigonometry
This is a new concept for u all. This chapter is very important, It is very intresting and i know when u read it u will also enjoy it.
9) Some Applications of Trigonometry
This chapter is on the basis of chapter 8. This chapter is very small but it is much difficult than any other chapter.
10) Circles
This is also the chapter which u have read earliar also. This chapter of X is much easy the IX one.
11) Constructions
As we all know we are reading this chapter from many year and this chapter is easiest every time. This time is also the same.
12) Areas Related To Circles
This is a new chapter for you it will make some problem for you but when u do some practice then every thing will be alright.
13) Surface Areas And Volumes
As we all know this chapter is also in VIII and IX. This chapter is only about practice. You should practice more and more quetions.
14) Statistics
This is also simpler and enjoying chapter it is all reapted Course. There is all IX course only in this chapter.
15) Probability
This chapter is same as IX there is some new questions but no new concept.
Important Questions
1. A cylinder, a cone and a hemisphere are of equal base and have the same height. What is the ratio in their volumes?
2. A contract on construction job specifies a penalty for delay of completion beyond a
certain date as follows: Rs 200 for Ist day, Rs. 250 for second day, Rs. 300 for third
day and so on. If the contractor pays Rs 27750 as penalty, find the number of days for
which the construction work is delayed.
3. Prove that the intercept of a tangent between two parallel tangents to a circle subtends a right angle at the centre of the circle.
4. From the top of a building 100 m high, the angles of depression of the top and bottom of a tower are observed to be 45° and 60° respectively. Find the height of the tower. Also find the distance between the foot of the building and bottom of the tower.
5. Prove that in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. Using the above, solve the following:
A ladder reaches a window which is 12m above the ground on one side of the street.
Keeping its foot at the same point, the ladder is turned to the other side of the street to reach a window 9m high. Find the width of the street if the length of the ladder is 15m.
6. For what value of k , the following pair of linear equations has infinitely many solutions?
10x + 5y - (k-5) = 0
20x + 10y - k = 0
7. If the 10th term of an A.P. is 47 and its first term is 2, find the sum of its first 15 terms.
8. Justify the statement : “Tossing a coin is a fair way of deciding which team should get the batting first at the beginning of a cricket game.”
9. If a student had walked 1km/hr faster, he would have taken 15 minues less to walk 3 km. Find the rate at which he was walking.
10. Construct a circle whose radius is equal to 4cm. Let P be a point whose distance from its centre is 6cm. Construct two tangents to it from P.
11. Find the ratio in which the line segment joining the points A (3, -6) and B(5,3) is
divided by x - axis. Also find the coordinates of the point of intersection.
12. Find a relation between x and y such that the point P(x,y) is equidistant from the points
A(2, 5) and B(-3, 7)
13. A solid is composed of a cylinder with hemispherical ends. If the whole length of the solid is 100cm and the diameter of the hemispherical ends is 28cm. find the cost of polishing the surface of the solid at the rate of 5 paise per sq.cm.
14. There are two poles, one each on either bank of a river, just opposite to each other. One pole is 60m high. From the top of this pole, the angles of depression of the top and the foot of the other pole are 30° and 60° respectively. Find the width of the river and the height of the other pole.
15. Determine an A.P. whose 3rd term is 16 and when 5th term is subtracted from 7th term, we get 12.
Preparing For Exams
If u just see the questions and by reading it u say yes i can do without practicing it then u will not able to do at exam time.
The paper of board is not such difficult because the board exam is in whole india.
There are Govt. schools students also who secure good marks.
I believe Is we prepare only NCERT only we can secure 60 marks out of 80 easily.
Students buy various refresher and books like R.D sharma and RS aggarwal. But that all are waste, Just practising NCERT is good.
The main thing is that u should be determinent in ur maths class, Once ur maths concept is clear then i think u would have not any problem with any question in board.
The board maths paper is always easy but student don't prepare with NCERT then they feel it difficult.
I suggest u to prepare ur NCERT thouroly and make ur all concepts clear.
After that u should practice Old cbse board papers and also try Doing Sample papers.
In month of octuber or november there is new Ulike sample paper lauched every year,
U should practice that book only and NCERT don't refer any book.
U can get many sample papers from Internet Also,

Exam Tips
Hi,
students of Class Xth of CBSE Board
While every person is different, many people have trouble with mathematics due to the misconception that it is somewhat dry and useless in every day life. In fact, math is the glue to the universe and our existance. Here is a nice quote by Paul Erdos; “Why are numbers beautiful? It’s like asking why is Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony beautiful. If you don’t see why, someone can’t tell you. I know numbers are beautiful. If they aren’t beautiful, nothing is.” The Following exam tips will be helpful for you to pass the mathematics
1. Statistics - 10 marks (inclusive of probability)
In statistics we find mean, median and mode or we find the frequency/frequencies when Mean or Median are given. Ogive (less than or more than type) are drawn on graph and median is calculated from it. you must need to study probability.
2. Graph - 3 marks (linear equations in two variables)
The second topic is graph from the chapter of linear equations in two variables in which you solve 1, 2 or 3 equations graphically.
3. Theorems - 6 marks (with one small question)
Learn the theorems from the two chapters of Triangles and Circles.
4. Number system - 4 marks
This section is very simple mostly questions you learnt in lower classes.
5. Polynomials - 3-4 marks
This section is so easy.
Hence you will prepare for 27 marks who is enough to pass from 80 marks in Mathematics.
If You are weak in mathematics and have fear about maths then above tips and tricks will be helpful for you to pass the mathematics but if you wants good score then you must do study seriously and learn the whole syllabus…..Best of Luck for your exams
